Sex offender arrested

Eric Thurston, 19, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender.

Thurston was one of several people arrested in the area of 22nd Street and Grand Avenue, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.

A 16-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of providing false information, and a 15-year-old girl was issued a ticket for marijuana possession.

Police book man with gun

JJ Manzanarez was arrested Saturday on suspicion that he attempted to resist officers while armed with a gun.

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department was called to assist the Grand Junction Police Department in arresting Manzanarez.

He had been pulled over for a traffic stop.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

• A 16-year-old boy was issued a ticket Friday alleging that he shoplifted at 636 Market St.

• John Hathaway, 57, and Eric Mangiapelo, 31, were issued tickets Saturday alleging that they were trespassing.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:

• A cell phone was stolen Saturday in Cameo.

• A woman was hit on the head and arm with a beer bottle Sunday at Cactus Canyon bar.
